Solar panels after the end of net metering (salderen) on 1 January 2027
Net metering (salderen) ends on 1 January 2027, according to the Dutch government. After that, electricity you feed back is no longer offset one-to-one against what you use. That makes self-consumption more important: a system sized to your own use is easier to use directly, so you need a battery less quickly.
Size to your own use
More panels than you can use yourself mostly means more feed-in at a low price. We size the system to the house's own demand, including a future heat pump.
Frequently asked questions
Should I still buy solar panels in 2026?
Often yes, if the system is sized to your own consumption. We calculate it per house, without promising a payback period.
Netzy calculates what is technically feasible and what it costs, and explains the schemes. We do not give mortgage advice and do not broker mortgages. What you personally can borrow, and at what rate, is assessed by a mortgage adviser or lender. Label outcomes are route indications, never a guarantee.
