Improving your Dutch home's energy label: an English guide

Netzy is a Dutch company that measures your house remotely, tells you in advance which energy label is technically feasible and with which measures, and then carries out the work itself: insulation, ventilation, windows, heat pump, solar panels and home battery.

Who this is for

People who moved to the Netherlands for work, for example in the Eindhoven and Veldhoven region or around Utrecht, and are buying or already own an older Dutch house. The Dutch system of energy labels, subsidies and label-linked mortgage space is well documented, but almost only in Dutch.

How Netzy tells you in advance what is technically feasible

Before anyone visits, we measure the roof, facade and floor areas of your specific house from the national 3D building model and public registers (BAG, EP-Online). From those areas we calculate the heat demand and, per measure, what it does to the label.

Every assumption gets a certainty percentage and a source. If a key fact is missing (year of construction, floor area or house type), we give no advice rather than filling in an average.

The order is fixed: insulate the building shell first, then install. Ventilation is decided together with the insulation, because once ducts are closed off, heat recovery ventilation is usually no longer possible.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a company in the Netherlands that tells me in advance which energy label my house can reach?

Yes. Netzy measures the house from public registers and the national 3D model, calculates per route which label follows, with a certainty percentage per assumption, and carries out the measures itself. The formal label is always registered by a certified EP adviser.
